My First Post

Well, I finally bit the bullet and started a blog. I have no real idea of what I am doing, but I suppose I will learn as I go. Today is a beauty. Lovely weather, but had to take the dog in for gastroenteritis. That's doctor speak for a king-sized bellyache. Very serious when you only weigh eight pounds. So now he's sleeping off the meds and we go in for a checkup on Monday. Next up is dishes and laundry while I sew on a quilt top. My next project will be to charge the camera batteries and try to put up pictures. I love animals, quilting, knitting and eating. Don't mind cooking either, but tend to do that in spurts. I have a cockatiel, named Benny the Biter, Yorkie named Muffin, two Zebra finches, named Fanny and Findlay, two parakeets, named Romie and Julie, and six hens and a rooster. They have names too. Everything in my house is a pet except the spiders, snakes and mice. At any rate, the rooster is called Brewster, and he is a world class crower, but good for nothing more unless I decide to turn him into dumplings. The girls are Baby, Beulah and Barbie barred rock, and then there's Rhodie, the rhode island red, followed by Amy Americana, and bringing up the rear is Sylvie, the silver-laced Wyndotte. So that's the current state of my zoo. Oops I forgot the fish! There's a thirty gallon tank in the dining room with the bird cages and in it I have a large plecostomus sucker fish, one shebunkin goldfish, one black moor goldfish and a bright orange goldfish with the bubblbrain head. I forgot what kind it is, but they have all grown quite large in that tank with so much room and so little competition. I guess, I'll hush and try to post this. See you on Monday most likely! Jennifer
